Safety Building Services has been operating in New York for more than 15 years.

Safety Building Services comprises of three companies: Safety Lighting, Safety Building Cleaning and Safety Building Security.

Safety Lighting

In 1992, Safety Lighting began servicing the Commercial and Residential Real Estate markets in New York City, as a supplier of light bulbs and ballasts. Under the able leadership of its’ President, Elias Strum, the company swiftly moved forward working with small to medium sized management companies to become a dynamic supplier of quality products. For the next 10 years, Safety Lighting continued to grow. In 2003, Jesse Berland joined the Sales team, infusing new energy and ideas that helped to spark exponential growth.

Today, Safety Lighting supplies not only light bulbs and ballasts, but also fixtures, lighting consulting services and electrical maintenance.

Safety Building Cleaning

In 1996, Elias Strum opened Safety Building Cleaning to service commercial real estate and non-profit organizations. To build a stable, reliable and experienced firm, Mr. Strum hired staff who had previously worked for him for over 25 years. With nearly 40 years experience in the industry, Elias Strum quickly established the company as a prominent leader in the industry. Businesses served include a 200 plus bed health care facility, adult and child day care facilities, major retail stores, non-profit organizations, private clubs, architecture firms, private homes and entire commercial buildings.

Safety Building Security

In 2001, Joe Kelly joined the Safety Security team. Mr. Kelly has over 25 years experience in law enforcement and security. Mr. Kelly spent twenty years with the NYPD and retired as a Detective Sergeant investigating high profile criminal cases. In 2001 he was part of the design and implementation team for the new security systems for the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan. Upon completion of that project Mr. Kelly Supervised successful security projects at the Verrazono Narrows Bridge, The Queens Mid-Town Tunnel, MTA corporate headquarters and MTA Revenue Processing facilities. Mr. Kelly has served as Safety's Security Director for the past 6 years, conducting security assessments for clients and ensuring the highest quality services are provided to our customers.
